The Müluori küchienyiri kügharü and Khumiasü küchienyiri kügharü conducted a tree plantation drive on May 30, from Akash bridge till Khumiasü Village, a stretch of about 16 kms.
Meluri Students’ Union (MSU) president, Rhokuotho Ngouri, in a press release said the union planted more than 7000 trees of different species. The drive started with a prayer by the president. The union has convenyed its thanks the ADC meluri, OC Meluri, DSP NAP Meluri, Village Council Chairman of Meluri Village and Khumiasü, ACF Forest Department Meluri, Sawathsü Ngouri, Sierhetsü Ngouri, Union Advisors, seniors, students and individuals for financing, material, seedings and their moral support.
The press release said that this drive was meant to encourage everyone to plant trees and the union was also considering a plantation drive for June 5, World Environment Day.
