A ribbon cutting ceremony for the brand new State Bank of India (SBI) Staff Residential Complex for officials and award staff families was held at Bank Colony on Thursday at 12.30 pm. Dignitaries from SBI, civil contractors, architects, GB of Bank Colony, and members of the colony council were present at the programme.
The first of its kind in Nagaland, the complex has 5 blocks consisting of 44 flats and was constructed at a total cost of Rs. 10.52 crores. It was built on the land donated by the state government way back in 1993 and the process of initiating the construction started in 2012. The facility is aimed at providing accommodating to staff of the 15 SBI branches in Dimapur and even to those from outside who are posted in Dimapur.
Chief general managers of SBI, NE circle; PVSLN Murty and Sunil Kumar Tandon graced the occasion as the chief Guests. In his address, Sunil Kumar Tandon lauded the planning of the facility saying that it was well laid out and had a lot of open spaces. Tandon added that it was important to keep the facility green and was hopeful that the complex would be greener the next time he visits Dimapur.
Chief general manager PVSLN Murty who also spoke on the occasion said that said that a residential complex like the one at Bank Colony was important to foster community bonding amongst families and create a sense of belonging. He further added that SBI is ready is render its cooperation to NABARD to for other development activities across the state.
The other dignitaries who spoke on the occasion were Civil contractor from M/s Pfudilhu & Sons, Kohima and representatives of SBIOA and SBISA. The dignitaries present were: general menager, NABARD, S. K Dhumal;deputy general manager, Jorhat module, Debashish Mitra; assistant general manager and regional manager, Dimapur region, Paogin Haokip; general manager (NW-I), Ajay Kumar Singh; general manager (NW-II), Digmanu Gupta.
The program was chaired by branch manager, Hornbill Premium Banking Center Abhishek Kumar, welcome address was delivered by assistant general manager, SBI, RBO Paogin Haokip. The other highlights of the programme were; felicitation, handing over of quarter allotment letters by the chief guests, dedicatory prayer by senior pastor of AG Church, Bank Colony, Rev Thungdemo N Lotha, and vote of thanks by SGM, SBI, Besii Bosco Sani.
The programme ended tree plantation by dignitaries and handing over of cheque to Jo Foundation Inclusive School in Kohima, which also caters to the needs of specially abled children.
