A one day district level orientation on Laqshya (Improving Quality of Care in Labour Room) and Dakshata was conducted on June 5 at District Hospital Tuensang conference hall.
In a press release from CMO Tuensang, Dr. T. Pangjung Sangtam and media officer, Kupje Buchem stated that the workshop was conducted mainly focused on improving the quality of health care in the labour room and maternity OT and reduce preventable maternal and newborn mortality, morbidity and stillbirth rates, associated with the care around delivery in labour room and OT and ensure respectful maternity care.
The resource persons for the workshop were District Hospital Tuensang O&G specialist, Dr. A. Yanrenthung Jami and DPM (Quality Assurance), Angelina Jungi. The participants for the workshop were DIO (RCH & UIP), Dr. Thungchanbeni Patton, MS, Dr. I. Maotemjen, Pathologist, Dr. Tochi, DPM, BPM Tuensang Sadar, nursing in-charge of labour room and OT, nurses from various wards and students of nursing school Tuensang attended the programme.
