Malaria elimination sensitization held in Mangkolemba

A one day program to sensitize stakeholders to Malaria elimination at was held on June 28 at Sunday School Hall, Mangkolemba town.
A press release from DPMU Mokokchung stated that, DVBO Mokokchung, Dr. S. Marina presented an overview of malaria. According to the release, Mangkolemba block had the highest recorded malaria cases and the only block in Nagaland with annual parasite incidents. But the cases of malaria has been declining as compared to the previous four years i.e. in 2015 – 73 cases, 2016 – 64, 2017 – 39 and in 2018 only one malaria case has been reported.
State representative from Kohima IEC consultant, Narola gave a presentation on the vision, causes and objectives for Mangkolemba. A discussion session was also held with all the stake holders.
The program was chaired by district consultant Mokokchung, Imkummongba while vote of thanks was proposed by assistant malaria officer, Imnawati.
