Response to Purana Bazaar (B) Village Council

July 2, 2018 | by admin

In response to the news item “Purana Bazaar Village Council Informs” published June 23, the Water Logged (bill) Area Land Owners Union (WLALOU), Purana Bazaar (B) has said that no information was given to them regarding the coordination meeting held on  June 9 at the residence of head GB.
WLALOU president, Mulomo V. Kiho and secretary, Khekugha Chishi, said this in a press release with regard to the notification to all the land owners of water logged areas to develop their land on or before April 2019 failing which the land would be seized.
WLALOU said that it would like to bring to the notice of the village council that the land allotment was given to them by Lt. Kiron Mech head GB (village chief) to be the “part of the protector of the village and we are the sole owner of this land.”
It said that in good and bad times the village council is to work for the welfare of the village community and safeguard the village but no authority was given to it to claim ownership of the land magnanimously gifted by the former head GB.
Considering that the village is a traditional village, Water Logged (bill) Area Land Owners Union said it respected and honoured the head GB (village chief), his colleagues and the village authority.
It noted that the progress of the village development was slow because of improper roads and drainage. It thanked the village council for its concern regarding the development of our village and gave the assurance that as soon as approachable roads and drainage were constructed, they would begin development in their respective lands.
