Power department has informed that there was total power blackout in Impur section and Chungtia section due to the damage of 1.6 MVA, 33/11KV main power transformer at Impur and 63 KVA 11/0.4 KV transformer by thunderstorm on August 7, 2018 at around 12noon.
In a press release, Mokokchung electrical division executive engineer informed that damage has caused power blackout in the entire Asetkong range, Mopungchuket, Impur Mission Compound, Sungratsu, Kubolong, Longpa, Chami, Longjang, Kanimo & Yimchalu and parts of Chungtia village.
While acknowledging the difficulties faced by the residents in affected areas, the department requested the consumers to bear with the department for about a week. The department informed that all efforts were being made to arrange for repaired transformers to restore power supply at the earliest.
