CIH Medziphema gardening skill development program

 Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), Nagaland conducted a skill development course for gardeners at its campus in Medziphema, Nagaland from July 3 to August 13. 

A press release from CIH Medziphema stated that it was a 260 hour course and is accredited by Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI).

Altogether, 17 trainees from different districts of Nagaland participated in the course, which aimed at providing in-depth understanding on nursery management, propagation planting material, plantation, maintenance and garden care. 

Director CIH, Dr. N K Patle, while interacting with the participants encouraged them to utilize the skills of gardening in generating income and improving their livelihood. He also emphasized on the need to develop professional work culture to increase productivity. The next course on Floriculture for 200 hours commences from August 23.
