EDSYO expresses concern on health hazard of public

East Dimapur Sumi Youth Organization (EDSYO) has expressed concern about the amount of air and dust pollution arising as a result of the ongoing developmental work under its jurisdiction that comprises of the Highway stretch from Purana Bazar to Airport Junction. 

In a press release, EDSYO stated that for a very long time the Highway stretch from Purana Bazar to Airport Junction has been an eyesore and numerous organizations have raised concerns for the same. 

The inauguration of the project itself took place almost a year ago and while there were concerns that the said project might never be initiated, EDSYO was very pleased that the concerned authorities/contractors has finally started work on what has been a long awaited and a much needed one. 

However, organizations lamented that pollution has become not only hazardous for the commuters but for the residents living in and around the said highway stretch. 

In this regard, the organization appeals to the responsible authority to arrange and schedule for water to be sprayed along the stretch where the work is taking place to help reduce pollution in the area.
