
Kohima Law College (KLC) conducted and interactive session with additional DGP Nagaland, Rupin Sharma on October 12 at the college premises.
A press release from professor-in-charge, students’ welfare KLC, Kezhokhoto Savi stated that the guest speaker Rupin Sharma shared his experiences as an IPS officer and as a law graduate. He also spoke in brief about the importance of the rule of law in society and revealed that Administrative Law was one of his favourite law subjects. He opined that today, the lawyers could contribute much in bringing change in many aspects.
The law students raised several questions and issues which the guest speaker answered in detail. Responding to a query about backdoor appointments, Sharma said that all problems may not be solved in one go but there was always a solution for them. He opined that the advertisement of the opening was of the foremost importance so as to give an opportunity to all eligible candidates so that the practices of fairness could prevail. There is always a solution to a problem and no problem should be left without being addressed, he added.
Kezhokhoto Savi chaired the interaction program and welcomed the guest speaker. He also introduced Rupin Sharma, an IPS officer who hails from Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh.
