Excise deptt warns against collection

State Department of Excise has cautioned that any excise personnel stationed in the check gates found indulging in collection of money from any vehicle would be severely dealt with as per the law.

In a press release, Excise commissioner Tarep Imchen reiterated the standing notification & orders pertaining to check gate guidelines. Seeking active cooperation of the public, the department has appealed all responsible to report any underhand dealings by its personnel at the gate to the assistant commissioner of excise (ENF) at 9436006452.

The warning was issued following reports that Excise personnel including other departments were reportedly collecting unauthorized tax from vehicles entering Nagaland at the check gates in Dimapur.
