“Khrietho Riilou 2018” under the aegis of Angami Catholic Youth Association (ACYA), on the theme, “Khrista la shieshiilie”, commenced on November 9 at Don Bosco School in Sechii-Zubza. The competition will be go on till November 11.
A press release by ACYA stated that, the three-day friendship meet is being hosted by Sechii-Zubza Catholic Youth Association (SZCYA) and is co-sponsored by Nerhu Yuva Kendra (NYK ).
Kesosiil Christopher Ltu, president Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) while exhorting the gathering said that of late, about 70000 people have registered as educated unemployed youth in the State. He therefore, asked the youth to ponder the root cause of unemployment in the state.
Ltu gave an example of how Naga youth living in places like Delhi or Assam purchase their own indigenous food and delicacies from non-local people, and pointed out that Naga youth lack the idea and concept of business.
The NSF president also reminded the youth to consider the Naga political issue as a dialogue for a “common cause”.
In order to become good sportspersons, Ltu recommended maintaining consistency and added that players should aim beyond becoming referees and not just end up becoming one.
Earlier, Northern Angami Catholic Youth Association (NACYA) and Kohima Town Angami Catholic Youth Association (KTACYA) bagged the first and second positions respectively in the choral competition.
The invocation was offered by catechist Medolepra Lucas and a welcome note was delivered by Vilhulie Vitus.
Special numbers were presented by Christ King Church, Kohima village, Medotseinuo Joan and friends while an instrumental piece was performed by Ketoulhoutuo Dominic, a visually impaired guitarist.
The inaugural program was compered by Kepelhubei Fidelis and Kekhriengunuo Teresa. Sedelhunuo Cecilia offered the benediction.
During the competition, about three-hundred participants from the five regions – Kohima Town Angami Catholic Youth Association, Western Angami Catholic Youth Association, Southern Angami Catholic Youth Association, Northern Angami Catholic Youth Association and Chakhro Angami Catholic Youth Association are competing with each other in various sporting events, talent shows and singing.
