Lamhai Village Council reacts to statement

December 4, 2018 | by admin

Reacting to the statement issued by Y. Botovi Zhimo, Head GB of Kiyevi village wherein the descendants of Kiyevi and GBs demanded “public apology”, Lamhai Village Council (LVC) expressed shock that the descendants of Kiyevi or Lotavi, who were the pioneers of Kiyevi village, could betray the landowner who had generously donated land for the establishment of Kiyevi village.

Stating that facts cannot be distorted, LVC chairman Haibamko and Head GB Amezi in a press note claimed that a group led by Kiyevi and Lotavi had approached Lamhai village leaders in 1939 and sought permission to establish the village.

Though no written agreement was made in 1939, since there was no literate person in both the parties, LVC however claimed that there were numerous documents from the district administration acknowledging Lamhai as the landowner.

Clarifying that it was not against recognition of Khehoi village, LVC however said it cannot allow Kiyevi village to donate any land to Khehoi or any other people for establishment of village without the consent or approval of the landowner.

It further said that LVC was not interested in any paper war, and therefore asserted that it will not issue any clarification or rejoinder relating to this issue unless compelled to do so.
