ZAPO issues environmental protection bans

Zuketsa Area Public Organisation (ZAPO) in accordance with the standing resolution of the Chakhesang community in preserving the rich flora and fauna within its jurisdiction has resolved to strictly uphold the resolution of the community within its jurisdiction.

A press release from ZAPO general secretary, Rite Khutso has informed all affiliated and neighbouring villages, both from Nagaland and Manipur, that the ZAPO would strictly reinforce the ban on hunting, fishing and burning of jungles etc. ZAPO has asked all villages/units of ZAPO and neighbouring villages to spread this information and control its members in regard to the ban. 

The union has also asked all concerned to control their own cattle. The ZAPO will take necessary actions as deemed fit against defaulters, it asserted.
