Workshop for teachers held

MGM Higher Secondary School (MGMHSS), Midland, Dimapur and St. Thomas Mission Society conducted a workshop for pre primary and primary teachers on December 13 on the topic, “Play and Learn.” A press release by MGMHSS media cell stated that the workshop was conducted by resource person from MacMillan Education India based in Kolkata, Raju Ganguly. Principal Fr. Dr Shibu Varghese who spoke in the introductory session held in the morning, reminded teachers that “education is an entertainment” adding that students should learn their lessons through a play way method, for which teachers should be professionally trained and refresher courses are crucial in this aspect. The release added that the workshop was mainly held for teachers to improve their teaching and learning styles like listening, explaining, telling, talking, questioning, retelling, and to enhance teaching methodologies for new age learners. The workshop also included story-telling and enactment sessions.
