PVC on non-functional polytechnic institute

February 23, 2019 | by admin

The Pangti Village Council (PVC) has requested the concerned department and the State government to expedite all necessary arrangements and procedures to make the Government Polytechnic Institute at ‘Renbomo li’ Pangti, Pangti Village, functional by the next academic session.

PVC chairman, Jenithung Shitiri, in a press statement said the institution was sanctioned in the year 2013 and construction began in 2014. It added that the main building and all office buildings were completed two years back, but till date the concerned department and the state government has “miserably failed to make the institution functional.”
“…the said Polytechnic Institution will provide enough opportunity to the economically backward students of Lotha and Nagas to pursue and avail affordable Technical Course at this doorsteps instead of running pillar to the post of Technical Course outside the state” the statement said. However, the “delay tactic of the present government”, the PVC said, deprives aspiring Lotha Technical students in particular and the Nagas in general. In a general public meeting, the council resolved that all possible assistance and cooperation will be provided to the concerned department and the state government.
The PVC also cautioned the State government that failing to make the Polytechnic Institution functional by the next session would be inviting the general public’s own course of action.
