DRDA Wokha pen down strike

Employees under District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Wokha including officers and staff have decided to go for pen down strike starting February 28, 2019 till pending salaries were released by the department. In a press note, DRDA Wokha PD Thungdeno Mozhui said the decision to go on a strike was taken by officers and staff during a meeting on February 27, 2019, which was held in connection with non-payment of salary for the past 10 months. The officers and staff expressed dismay that due to non payment of salary they were facing untold hardship to meet daily needs of the family especially children’s education.
