
The two-day national seminar on “issues and challenges of higher education in North East India,” sponsored by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and organised by the IQAC Immanuel College, concluded at the college Friday. A press release by the college stated that the final day of the seminar saw paper presentations on “Identifying the Crisis and Remedies in Higher Education (North East India)”. The release stated that the two-day seminar had 16 presenters from all over the region. The technical sessions of the seminar were chaired by assistant professor, Dr. K.N. Tennyson from Afghanistan Studies Program, Jamia Millia Islamia (Central University) New Delhi; assistant professor, Dr. T Jamedi Longkumer from the department of Philosophy, Dimapur Government College; professor Dr. Xavier P.Mao, HoD Philosophy, NEHU Shillong; and associate professor, Akha Khaihrii Mao from School of Vocational Studies Ambedkar University, Delhi. The seminar concluded with a valedictory session in which Immanuel College, vice principal, Imchanochetla Changkija, gave the valedictory address and distributed certificates.
