
A Boosting Routine Immunization Demand Generation (BRIDGE) training program on routine immunization for frontline workers, ANMs, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and AWWs, which began on March 13, culminated on March 28.
A press release by the office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kohima, stated that the training was conducted in all blocks of Kohima District viz Kohima Sadar, Sechu block, Jakhama block, Chiephobozou block and Tseminyu block.
The resource persons were DPO (RCH-UIP) Kohima, Dr. Rupert Peseyie, MO (MMU) and media officer, Dr. Rüyangulie Paphino.
The training which was carried out in batches was aimed at addressing vaccine hesitancy and to raise immunization demand as frontline workers remain at the core community on healthy behaviours.
During the training, topics on AEFI, basics of immunization, interpersonal communication, planning and monitoring of routine immunization were deliberated.
The trainees also participated in presentation-based games, group discussions, role-playing activities and audio-visual interactive sessions.
Altogether 84 ANMs, 59 ASHAs and 300 AWWs from all the blocks participated in the training program.
