
In line with the decision of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) deciding to extend issue based support to the Congress Party in Nagaland for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, a coordination meeting between the Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) and NPF Kohima Division was held at Congress Bhavan Kohima on April 2.
KDCC press secretary Yangertemjen, in a press release, stated that the KDCC team was led by president Kevi Vizo and the NPF Kohima division was led by its president Gonei Sirie. The deliberations dwelt on the two political parties coming together to protect the “secular fabric”, especially the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) 2016 issue. KDCC has also welcomed the maturity of NPF leaders in extending their support to the Congress candidate, KL Chishi.
RJD Nagaland to support PDA candidates
The RJD Nagaland State has unanimously resolved to support the PDA consensus candidates for 26 Aonglenden by-elections and Lok Sabha election.
A press release from RJD Nagaland Unit president, Khetovi Kinny stated that this was decided in its state executive body meeting on March 31, at his residence in Purana Bazaar Dimapur. It stated that the meeting was attended by office bearers of all district units in Nagaland and this resolution to support the NDPP-PDA candidates was arrived at after thorough deliberation.
Pathso Area Congress meeting held
A Pathso Area Congress Party Meeting was organized by 57th Thonoknyu ACCC, held at Pathso town on April 2.
According to a press release issued by vice president DYC Tuensang, Tochiyemlong, many representatives from different ranges under 57th Thonoknyu A/C attended the meeting. At the meeting, a presidential address was delivered by both DCC Tuensang president and NPF Noklak Division president. Short speeches were delivered by former NPF leader, LL Buming, former BJP leader L. Mulai and Lebese Sangtam, DYC.
The program was chaired by general secretary 57th ACCC Sangtsui; and invocation prayer was said by pastor Panso Town Khumong. A welcome address was delivered by president 57th ACCC, BC Liang and a vote of thanks was proposed by PCC member 57th A/C, Pakhiu Khiam. The benediction was offered by pastor Shia Ekhao.
NPF 10 units’ co-ordination meeting
A co-ordination meeting of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) divisional office bearers and party workers from ten Assembly Constituencies under Mokokchung district was held at the NPF Mokokchung Division office on April 3.
NPF Mokokchung Division, media cell, in a press release stated that at the meeting, the party workers agreed to lend issue-based support to the Congress party, as decided by leaders of the party. This one time arrangement is based on the fight against a common cause and for early solution to the Naga Political issue, the release added. The meeting also decided to support and lend appropriate man-power to the Congress party wherever they do not have the required numbers.
