DPDB meetings held at Kohima, Tuensang

Monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meetings were conducted at Kohima and Tuensang on May 15 and 14 respectively. 

Kohima DPDB: The meeting was held at DPDB conference hall on May 15, chaired by DC and vice chairman DPDB Kohima. 

According to DIPR report, reviewing the last meeting minutes, district planning officer and member secretary DPDB, Kohima, Pudusul Luho informed the members that the report of Village Adoption Committees (VACs) will be reviewed by the core committee and the exit programme will be held on June 15. On construction of toilets at SP Kohima complex under SBM urban Kohima, the board decided to refer the matter to the Urban Department as clarified by the PHE (Urban Division). On the agenda of registration of societies, the members from each society briefed the house on their ongoing activities, aims and its objective and with the recommendation from the screening committee, the house decided to approve it for further submission to the government. The meeting also entrusted Agri department to present it activities in the next DPDB meeting.

Tuensang DPDB: The meeting was chaired by SDO Civil, Ajit Kumar. Executive engineer (Highways) expressed the need to follow up on the proposal of the extension of the National Highway 202 to two lane roads from zero to 95 Km in the first phase. President of Tuensang District Taekwondo Association gave a representation for financial assistance for the celebration of the successful 25th year anniversary. Discussion was made to register the Tuensang District Table Tennis Association and entrusted the concerned authority to put up a representation for the same. Project coordinator Kripa Foundation, Ketho highlighted on the prevalence of HIV and drug abuse in the district. He urged the public and civil authorities to campaign and promote the awareness of HIV and substance abuse. DPO of district AIDS Prevention and Control Unit and Care and Support Centre and the president of Positive Network also highlighted the facilities available in the district to prevent the same.
