
Members of Dimapur Dhamma Vihar (DDV) under the society of Dhamma Bodhi and meditation, Kevija-u village, Dimapur celebrated 2563rd sacred Buddha Jayanti festival on May 18.
A press release from general secretary Nirmalendu Barua stated that the day long programme highlighted Vipassana meditation group sitting, world brotherhood flag hoisting, Panchaseel prayer and Buddha puja, fruit distribution at civil hospital, Dimapur followed by cultural programme and candle lightening.
Monks from Balipathr (Assam) narrated the teachings of Bhagawan Buddha and benefit from Panchaseel.
Working president, KK Paul also introduced the monthly old age pension scheme for the poor needy members of the society in memory of late. R.R. Barua, founder president of SDBM. Altogether seven old people were benefitted. General secretary, N Barua conveyed gratitude to all the members of the society for their active participation in the festival.
