Book on climate change released

A book titled “Climate change and sustainable development: Perspective from North East India” was released by prof. Pardeshi Lal, vice-chancellor, Nagaland University at Lumami on June 10.

A press release from PRO, NU, Lumami Peter Ki stated that, prof. Pardeshi Lal in his short speech said it was a proud moment and thanked everyone involved in the endeavour. He said that the book will be of use to students, researchers and policymakers. He shared the simplest definition of “sustainable development” as making the best use of what nature offered and passing it on to the future generations. 
The brief function was chaired by prof. Sangyu Yaden, dean, School of Sciences, wherein he said that the book was an outcome of the national seminar on climate change and sustainable development with special reference to North East India organised by NUTA (L). The seminar was jointly funded by Nagaland University and NUTA (L). 
The editors of the book were prof. Lanusashi Longkumer; Prof. Dipak Sinha; Dr. Moamenla Amer; Dr. Athungo Ovung; Dr. Pranay Punj Pankaj and Dr. Pitheli K. Jimo.
The programme was also attended by Dr. Abemo, registrar; Prof. S. K. Chaturvedi, director, IQAC; Prof. Dipak Sinha, nodal officer, IPR Cell; Prof. Lanusashi Longkumer, dean, Students Welfare; Dr. Likhase Sangtam, general secretary, NUTA (L); HoDs and faculty members.
