NPGN/NNC Ao region condemns ‘unauthorized’ statement

June 17, 2019 | by admin

NPGN/NNC Ao region has condemned the “unauthorized” statement issued by M. Toshi Lemtur and clarified that Shoba Lakhum was unanimously elected by Tatar Hoho on May 31, 2019 as interim president.

In a press statement, NPGN/NNC Ao region, chairman, Imkong Pongen claimed that T. Ovung was relieved from the post of acting president and appointed as advisor to collective leadership on moral ground.
However, owing to his “ignorant reaction”, the house had impeached him from the membership of NPGN/NNC with immediate effect.
In this regard, Imkong said that Ovung has no right to claim as president, as he is no longer a member of NPGN/NNC.
Imkong also claimed that bonafide member of “legitimate Govt. (NPGN/NNC)” under the collective leadership led by Shoba Lakhum (interim president) and Z. Hozhito Chopy general secretary was the only bonafide government, which has been recognized by entire “Tribal hohos and apex Naga organizations and the member of NNPGs”.
Therefore, the NPGN/NNC Ao region cautioned T. Ovung and M. Toshi Lemtur not to mislead the public and the innocent members for their own benefit.
The Ao region further reaffirmed to stand firm with the decision of Tatar and will continue to contribute their efforts for strengthening the NPGN/NNC. It also appealed to the entire Aos and Nagas and in general not to believe on the “selfish and self-centered statement” of T. Ovung and M.Toshi Lemtur as they were no longer members of NPGN/NNC.
Further, M. T. Ovung and M. Toshi Lemtur have been asked not to use the name of NPGN/NNC so as to avoid misunderstanding and misguide in general.
