Kronu seeks more EMR Schools for Nagaland

June 18, 2019 | by admin

Nagaland planning & coordination and land revenue minister Neiba Kronu has urged the Centre to continue providing more Ekalavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) in all blocks of the State for ensuring quality education to tribal students.

Meeting Union tribal affairs minister Arjun Munda at his official chamber at Shastri Bhavan in New Delhi on Tuesday, Kronu said all three EMRS in Nagaland were doing well and had hundred per cent result in Class X exams in 2019.
Congratulating Munda on assuming charge as Union tribal affairs minister, Kronu urged the former to look after development and welfare of tribals in the country. Noting that the Union ministry was rendering yeomen service to tribal communities of the country, he urged the Union minister to continue supporting the downtrodden people, especially those in the Northeast, to help them come on a par with rest of the countrymen.
The Union minister was pleased by the approach of the State government and assured his full support to develop and enhance the capacity of tribal people to bring them on a par with other communities in the country. Kronu was accompanied by additional development commissioner Nosazol Charles, planning officer Chorayi Viyie and planning department’s officer on special duty Thomas Thailu. This was stated in a press release by Thailu.
