State government has directed all the departments to constitute Internal Committee (IC) under Section 4 of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
The Internal Committee (IC) has been made obligatory to be constituted in every workplace/directorate/NGOs/Autonomous body/organisation to provide protection and redress complaints of sexual harassment cases against women in the State in the manner prescribed therein. All the departments under the state have been requested to take action accordingly and intimate department of women resources development at the earliest for onward submission to the Ministry of Women & Child Development.
