Liangmen bridge, the lifeline to several villages under Longchem sub-division in Japukong range, was damaged on Sunday by flood due to incessant rains during the past few days.
According to reports, heavy rainfall in the sub-division has also caused mudslides and flash floods in the area.
Despite several appeals to the state government regarding the weak wooden bridge, the citizens of the area said that no positive measures have been taken to look into their genuine grievances.
It was also learnt that the bridge will remain closed until further notice.
