1,25,299 govt employees in Nagaland

Nagaland state has a total number of 1,25,299 government employees as of March 31, 2018, out of which 87,279 are male and 38,020 are female employees. 

This was mentioned in the Nagaland statistical handbook 2018 which released Tuesday on the occasion of the inauguration of the economics and statistics directorate in Kohima by its advisor L. Khumo Khiam.

According to the handbook, there are a total of 4988 employees in the Class I category, out of which 1456 are female and 3532 employees are males. 

Likewise, there are 3363 employees in Class-II category out of which 926 are females and 2437 are male, in Class III category, there are 21084 female and 54236 male employees and in Class IV there are 13675 female and 25964 male employees. 

State police department has the highest employees amongst the 89 departments with 26,026 employees followed at second place by department of school education with 23,388 employees. 

PWD (R&B)was the third highest having 10,654 employees followed by health and family welfare with 10,055, social welfare with 7000, power department 4746 , PWD (housing) with 4659, district administration 3878, Public health engineering 3658 and rural development ranked tenth with 2068 employees. The departments having the least number of employees are state guest house Kohima and electrical inspectorate with 16 employees each.
