One-day sensitisation programme on Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PM-KMY) for officers from district and sub-division was held at directorate conference hall, Kohima on August 26.
A press release from directorate of Agriculture stated that, N Husheli Sema, principal secretary & APC during her address asked the officers to disseminate their technical knowledge to the farmers. She also asked the DAOs and SDAOs to make an assessment of crop performance and anticipated production especially for paddy as many districts have received scanty rainfall.
Director of agriculture M Ben Yanthan also addressed the officers giving a brief note on PM-KMY and asked the officers to be prompt in discharging their assigned duties.
Powerpoint on the newly launched PM-KMY scheme was presented by L Hangsing, joint director of Agriculture. In his power point presentation the salient features and other information on the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana was elaborated.
He also mentioned that the farmer may contact concern DAOs/ SDAOs for details.
It was also informed that small and marginal farmers of 18-40 years group were eligible for registration in the scheme.
Earlier, additional director C Peter Yanthan chaired the programme and gave the welcome address and vote of thanks.
