
Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) across Nagaland have been organising various trainings and demonstrations to uplift the farming community in the state. Following are the reports.
ATMA Dimapur block: ATMA Dimapur conducted within state training for personnel of 15th NAP (IR) Mahila Bn. at Police Complex, Chumukedima on “Dish Wash Liquid and Detergent Powder Making”.
In the technical session, dish wash liquid making and detergent powder making was taught and demonstrated step by step to the trainees by deputy project director, TonikaliAchumi and ATM, ATMA Dimapur, Kenei Krose respectively.
ATMA Pfutsero block: ATMA Pfutsero Block conducted training-cum-demonstration and capacity building on September 6 at Pfutseromi Village with WDT, LRD Phek and BTT convener, Vesalu Puro as the resource person.
A new SHG was also formed in Pfutseromi Village Phek District. Virhupu Domeh conducted training as well as demonstration on kitchen gardening also with nursery seed bed preparation of cabbage and use of various bio insecticides.
A piggery farm school was also inaugurated in Zapami Village, Phek District with Zhielhilo Kenye as farm school teacher.
In a separate programme, ATMA Pfutsero Block conducted a within state farmers training cum exposure tour programme on September 4-5 to Sechu Zubza Block at Khonoma Village of Kohima with an aim to create awareness and expose farmers to new ideas on agricultural farming practices and Alder based cultivation.
ATMA Chizami block: ATMA Phek Chizami block organised within state exposure tour from August 29- 31, to Dimapur with an aim to expose the beneficiaries to grasp the new innovation in agricultural practices.
Ten farmers from five different SHGs of Mesulumi, Enhulumi and Chizami village participated along with two ATMA functionaries.
The team visited district soil and water conservation office Dimapur model project, where resource person SCA, DSCO Dimapur, Mantick explained in detail about construction of vermicomposting pit to harvesting.
During the visit to mushroom development centre, DHO, Green Park, 4th mile, Dimapur, resource person, FTA Temsu Aier explained on mushroom cultivation and spawn production. The team also visited Renlok SHG- detergent making unit and vermicompost unit at United village, Dimapur, where resource person Limasenla, Treasurer Renlok SHG, explained about the steps and process of soap and detergent making. She encouraged and motivated the farmers by sharing their success stories.
Medziphema block: ATMA Dimapur, Medziphema block conducted training and mobilization of Self Help Groups (SHGs) programme on August 31at Tsiepama village.
The training was imparted on the topic “Organic cultivation practices of king chilly(Raja Mircha)” by resource person, SMS (Plant Protection), KVK(ICAR), Jharnapani, Lireni Kikon.
A hands on training programme was also conducted for mobilization of SHGs on “preparation of detergent powder” and “value addition of king chilly” by resource persons, ATM, Keneisano Krose and ATM of Medziphema block, Nengkhonem Hangsing.
Peren block: ATMA Peren conducted training-cum-demonstration on August 30 at Seyie Self Help Group. The team was led by two deputy project directors and field staff of ATMA Peren district.
During the technical session, Seyie demonstrated on value additions of Noodles making.
ATMA Peren also undertook a within state farmer’s exposure tour to Dimapur District on August 30. The team was led by two deputy project directors of ATMA Peren.
