Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) has expressed deep concern and questioned the responsible authority(s) over the issue of illegal collection in and around Dimapur that was happening in broad daylight portraying Dimapur in a bad light.
DDCF through its media cell said that all the illegal taxations by the state and non -state actors were “quite a situation of shock for the public”.
The forum stated that formation of Public Action Committee (PAC) by the citizens of Dimapur was in one way “a very big shame” for the government as it clearly showed the failure of the government to contain such illegal activities, which was the “root cause of peoples’ suffering.”
DDCF has, therefore, urged the responsible authority to look into the representations submitted by the PAC and implement them immediately.
Meanwhile, the forum has appreciated the PAC for its noble cause and taking the initiative for the welfare of the people.
DDCF has appeal to all the citizens of Dimapur to come out and support PAC in its endeavour and strengthen PAC for a better and progressive Dimapur.
