
In view of the onset of festive season, the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) Monday directed all the business establishments to remain their shops open till 9pm with immediate effect to help the shoppers from the festive rush.
In a press release, DCCI president Akashe Zhimomi also directed all the shops to put up Christmas decoration by December 1, 2019 cautioning that violators would be penalised.
DCCI has informed that this year also the best decorated shops would be awarded with cash and citation. For big shop category, 1st, 2nd and 3rd would receive and Rs. 10,000, 5000 and Rs. 3,000 respectively and Rs. 5000, Rs. 3000 and Rs. 1,500 for small shop category.
Further, DCCI has appealed to the Dimapur traffic police to explore ways for using 5th Mile-Zoological Park-Thahekhu-Dhobinalla road during peak hours of the festive season to avoid traffic congestion being caused by ongoing four-lane road construction.
Meanwhile, DCCI has extended festive greetings to all the citizens of Dimapur.
