Artsy Naga Hornbill Fest art exhibition announce winners list

Artsy Naga’s ongoing art exhibition, “Think Art, Think Nagaland” at the 2019 Hornbill International Festival announced their list of winners for the categories of artworks being displayed. With a vision to promote and encourage Naga artists, Artsy Naga tied up with sponsors to give away certificates and cash awards amounting to half a lakh to the winners.
List of winners
1) Best Figurative – Shyam Khuman, sponsored by M. Chelong Chenth, BMM, NSRLM, Longleng
2) Best Landscape – Among Venuh, sponsored by Pangikala Foundation for Creative Work
3) Best Portrait – Moanungsang, sponsored by Covenant Infinity Trust
4) Best in Show – Among Venuh, sponsored by Y. Along Aier (Businessman & Art Patron)
5) Viewer’s Choice – Moanungsang, sponsored by Artsy Naga Art Foundation
6) Young Talent Award under-17 (2 winners) – Neola Sooting and Lipok Jamir, sponsored by Pilgrim Higher Secondary School “Nurturing lives to become the best they can be”.
The art exhibition-cum-sale is a juried show, featuring some of the best artists from Nagaland and their selected artworks. A total of 46 artists and more than 80 artwoks are a part of the 10-day exhibition which Artsy Naga is curating with the core objective to lay the foundations for making Nagaland synonymous with art.
Artsy Naga aims to ensure that the tourists and visitors will have an enriching experience of the art & culture of Nagaland through an inclusive display of artistic works that vary in medium, style, form and genres.
