With an aim to drive home the importance of protecting the earth and the well-being, DMI St. Joseph Global School organized a seminar on global warming for the students of Class V-IX on December 7 at the fun station of the school.

A press release from DMI St. Joseph Global School, Ikishe village, Dimapur stated that head of science department, Richard in his keynote address maintained that if they do not protect the environment, correspondingly their lives will also get affected along with the other living species in the universe.
He went on to state that the temperature of the earth has been increasing because of the man-made activities like industrial effluents, smoke from vehicles, fossil fuel bring, cutting down of trees, use of air-conditioner and electric appliances which emit CFCs, and so on.
Talking on the measures, Richard highlighted that if they plant more and more trees, they can prevent natural calamities like earthquake, cyclone, drought, water scarcity, pollution, etc., after which they would continue to live happily and the future generation will not suffer due to the actions of the present generation towards the environment.
Richard also highlighted how they can all save the planet with all the living species including humans. Also, he emphasized the precautionary measures and instant steps students should take to protect the planet. He urged the students to switch off electric appliances when not in use asking them to use natural resources and switch over to solar energy, and alternate energy.
He concluded the session saying if they protect the mother planet, she (earth) will protect them; if they neglect, they will suffer the consequences.
