By-elections: YTC bans canvassing

Yimchungrü Tribal Council (YTC) has resolved that no individuals should canvas or promote political agendas for the forthcoming by-poll to 60 Pungro-Kiphire A/C before the poll date announcement by Election Commission. In a press release, YTC general secretary Laji Luyanba said that the resolution was adopted at an emergency held at Nagaland House, Delhi attended by YTC officials, executives and advisors. It has directed all the frontal leaders under YTC and GBs and Councils not to involve in politics. Failure to abide by its directive, YTC cautioned that the necessary action would be taken against the defaulters as deemed fit.
