Take action against teachers keeping proxies: ANSTA

February 17, 2020 | by admin

Taking strong exception to the teachers keeping their proxies in government schools, the All Nagaland School Teachers Association (ANSTA) has urged the department of School Education to take any course of action for “such untoward and appalling practice.”

In a press release, ANSTA president Visato Koso appealed to the department to give befitting punishment to all who failed to comply with the direction of the department.

Extending support to the exercise carried out by the department to check the menace and practice of keeping bogus proxy teachers throughout the state, ANSTA said “The association finds it reprehensible that the teachers would indulge in such ignominious practices given our vital role in nation building.”

It expressed serious concerns that such activities carried out by a few “thoughtless teachers” would reflect upon those who truly dedicate themselves to the noble task.

ANSTA has appealed to all the responsible teachers to re-dedicate themselves while keeping away from any illicit activities that degraded the teaching profession.

Further, the association has requested various committees and all stakeholders particularly school management committee (SMC) to carry out the powers vested on them sincerely. It also urged them not to entertain or involve in any practices that would hamper the education of the children.

ANSTA also called upon all the right thinking citizens to support and encourage the department in its quest to do away with proxy teachers.
