A Tata Sumo carrying eight persons from Dimapur, headed towards Phek town skidded off the road killing a 19 year old girl and injuring seven others. According to reports, the accident took place along the stretch of the ongoing 2-lane road construction between Old Phek and Losami village around 3.40 p.m. Friday.
All the injured persons were admitted to Phek civil hospital with multiple injuries. The driver and a 4-year old boy was stated to be in critical condition, and likely to be shifted to Kohima or Dimapur for further treatment.
According to police the cause of accident was yet to be ascertained till filing of this report.
