Zhaleo inaugurates new Medziphema ADC office complex

Advisor, Sericulture, Excise & Minority Affairs, Government of Nagaland,  Zhaleo Rio inaugurated the new office building of ADC, Medziphema sub-division on March 6 after a dedicatory prayer by pastor BC’A’MT Medziphema town, Rev. Zhabu Terhüja.

A press release from media secretary, NDPP stated that while addressing the public, Zhaleo Rio noted that the foundation stone for the new office had been laid by CM Neiphiu Rio in 2008 however, said that the construction was delayed due to unforeseen reasons and began only during 2014-15.

 He acknowledged the PDA government for its relentless support, the contractor and everyone concerned for timely completion of the multi-storey building which will house three other attached departments.

 While briefing the public on the importance of ADC office and staff, Zhaleo urged the employees to give their best for public welfare wherein Medziphema sub-division was constituted by 23 villages and towns. 

He also requested the government to intervene and provide further relief such as adequate staff, dobashi, office equipments, etc. while assuring to look into the allocated and sanctioned requirements of the said office through appropriate procedures.

Speaking on the development aspect, Zhaleo stated that land ownership system has always created stumbling blocks and that the government was in the process to introduce “Nagaland Land Laws Act”. Rio was of the view that the said law, slated to be inclined towards easier land acquisition system for developments that are of public interest, will thereby pave way for accelerated development.

He advised that the public should continue to support the government and its numerous policies which were for the welfare of the common people and as such, coordinate with one another for a prosperous future.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by ADC Medziphema, Tshuvisie Phoji, while technical report was presented by executive engineer, CAWD Kohima, Sungti Amer. A speech on behalf of the public was delivered by former MTC chairman, Dosau Kuotsu and Kuki Christian Church choir presented a special song. A short speech was also delivered by Commissioner Nagaland, M. Patton, while SDO (C) Medziphema, Tokai V. Sumi delivered vote of thanks.
