Commissioner and secretary, Horticulture department, Y. Kikheto Sema, along with DHO Dimapur, Temsu Longkumer paid a visit to Molvom and Bungsang villages and interacted with pineapple growers.
A press release from district horticulture office stated that during the visit Molsang FPC members shared their needs for a good road linkage and marketing sheds around the area.
Meanwhile, the commissioner emphasised on the importance of proper price regulation to attract more large scale buyers.
He further enlightened the farmers on grading, packaging and labelling as it will prevent spoilage and help in easy transportation. He also urged the members to focus on area expansion and to work in a cluster form in order to make Medziphema area into pineapple city.
