NSUB assures assistance to Nagas

Sunbird Trust Bengaluru has reached out to the entire affected North East community at Bengaluru while members of Naga Task Force Bengaluru (NTFB) have delivered rations to people who could not venture out.

A press release from Naga Students’ Union, Bangalore (NSUB) president Mughato Kiba stated that, many people from North East India who have been stranded in Bengaluru received help from residents in Bengaluru, state government, police and local NGOs amid the pandemic. 
Sunbird Trust, an NGO working primarily in North East India provided help to the North Easterners in Bengaluru. Dr Sonal Sethia, COO, Sunbird Trust thanked the work of Sunbird Trust in North East India. The trust distributed over 70 tons of rations for over 12,000 North East people. 
President NSUB thanked the supply of rations from Sunbird Trust for over 2000 Nagas in Bengaluru city and its suburbs.
Sunbird Trust advisor in Nagaland Sethrichem Sangtam informed that the trust was currently sponsoring education of over 3,100 children in the North East and that has currently built (is building) 7 schools and 8 hostels (including a floor for Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home on NH 39) in NE states. Retired army colonel, Christopher Rego, founder CEO, Sunbird Trust who served over 8 years in North East India commended the volunteers of organisations like NSUB that reached every nook and corner of the city to distribute the ration kits.
