
Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Chümoukedima contained fire outbreak at Seiruzha ward-8, Chumoukedima on June 6.
A press release from Fire & Emergency Services, Kohima, deputy SP (F&ES) T. Shilu Jamir stated that, a quick response team was mobilised from Fire Station Chumoukedima where two fire tenders along with sufficient equipments and fire personnel reached the spot and contained the fire within 35 minutes. The release stated that, one kitchen was completely razed down and kutcha houses were partially damaged during the inferno. Property worth 4 lakhs approximately was lost in the fire incident but no casualty was reported. Timely intervention prevented the fire from spreading to adjoining areas. The cause of fire is reportedly due to smoking of pork meat. The response team was led by duty commander ASI Thangpong Khiamniungan.
