Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) has reminded the Nagaland public works department (NPWD) of its assurance to terminate illegal appointees last year, saying it has not received any official intimation from the department till date.
CTAN along with Civil Engineers Association of Nagaland (CEAN) had staged sit-in demonstration outside the office of Nagaland PWD in Kohima on December 16, 2019 and called off the protest the next day after commissioner & secretary of PWD (W&H) assured to address their grievances.
The two bodies had submitted a memorandum to the engineer-in-chief NPWD and demanded the department to terminate the services of SO Grade-II, draftsmen and surveyor appointed between June 6, 2016 and August 10, 2018.
CTAN through its media cell said they had agreed to commissioner and secretary’s request for three months time (till March 31, 2020) to ascertain and terminate any backdoor appointees.
As regards, CTAN has expressed hope that assurances given on December 17, 2019 would be implemented at earliest.
