GPRN/NSCN has accused personnel of 36 Assam Rifles (AR) of raiding the house of national tatar hoho speaker (a special official ID card holder) Huvito Yepthomi located in Purana Bazaar here in the wee hours of Monday despite knowing his absence and “in total disregard and breach of ceasefire ground rules (CFGR) on the pretext of having received some unsubstantiated information.” GPRN/NSCN MIP recalled that residence of the same person was also raided by troop of 41 Assam Rifles on January 23 this year. Finding no incriminating materials or evidences on both the occasions, the troops left by simply citing wrong information, it said.
GPRN/NSCN further alleged that the troops, “under the influence, combed the rooms and kitchen without the witness of the people present in the house even to the extent of taking photograph of a minor girl sleeping in the room and thereby creating mental and psychological harassment upon the minor children and women folks of the house.”
GPRN/NSCN said the “intermittent arbitrary, random and imperative” act of Assam Rifles with total disregard to CFGR, in this case multiple times on the same individual, was raising much concern over the motive and worthiness of trust on Government of India in the midst of reaching the proposed Indo-Naga solution.
GPRN/NSCN advised Assam Rifles to refrain from indulging in provocative action and stop harassing Naga national workers.
