
Mon forest division and wildlife division, Kiphire jointly organised an awareness campaign on “conservation and protection of forest and wildlife to mitigate human animal conflict and wildlife crime, nature conservation and biodiversity conservation” at government senior higher secondary school, Mon on March 16, 2021.
In his key note address, chairman, state biodiversity board, Nagaland, Satya Prakash Tripathi stated that students could play an important role as ambassadors for conservation.
Special invitee, deputy commissioner (DC), Mon Thavaseelan K addressed the issues of climate change, food/water security, environment amelioration and others.
While chairing the programme, DFO Mon, Raj Priy Singh emphasised on the need of conservation of natural resources for the future generation.
He also stated that conservation of forest and environment was not the duty of forest department alone and that it was the fundamental duty of every citizen a enshrined in the constitution.
Earlier, forest range officer, Mon, Wangshak delivered vote of thanks followed by an interactive session with the participants. 100 persons participated in the programme.
