Half-day closure of shops peaceful

Half-day closure of business establishment in Dimapur on Saturday, which was called by NSCN (I-M) UT in view of the Nagaland Joint Christian Forum (NJCF) day of prayer, passed off peacefully without any untoward incident.

All business establishment except medical establishments downed their shutters till 12 noon. Though there was no restriction on the movement of vehicles, traffic on the roads was thin till noon as the business establishments were closed. 

However, by afternoon, as shopkeepers started opening shops, the traffic also increased. 

NSCN (I-M) had urged the commercial establishments apart from medical and educational establishments to show solidarity by keeping their stores closed.

It may be  mentioned that the NJCF had called for a day of prayer for confession, repentance and for the Naga political solution.
