KVK Mon conducts STRY training

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Mon, Nagaland in association with State Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Nagaland and National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad organised a one-week Skill Training of Rural Youth (STRY) programme on seed production and poultry rearing and management from April13 to 18, 2021 and April 17 to 23, 2021 respectively at KVK office Aboi under Mon district. A press release by KVK Mon stated that, during the first week long training programme, course director, Bendangjungla emphasised on different theme in regard to seed production on cereals and vegetables and during the second week long programme, course director, Dr. Paihem Michui emphasised on various aspects of poultry rearing and management.

Meanwhile, senior scientist & head KVK Mon, Dr.V.Akashe Zhimomi urged the trainees to actively participate in the training programme and encouraged them to equip themselves with better knowledge and skills. Earlier, the inaugural programme was chaired by Dr. Paihem Michui, ACTO (Ani. Sc.) and Bendangjungla, ACTO (PBG) highlighted on STRY and entrepreneurship development through skill training programme. Sub-divisional Soil & Water Conservation Officer (SDSCO), Aboi, Shoyan Konyak graced the valedictory programme as guest of honour and vote of thanks was pronounced by Ruyosu Nakro, ACTO (Agri.Extn). Altogether, 34 rural youths from Angphang, Chaoha, Chingkao, Chenloishu, Chenwetnyu Villages and Aboi Town benefitted from the training.
