DNYO on civil works at Dimapur Airport

May 28, 2021 | by admin

With regard to the controversy surrounding annual maintenance contract (AMC) for civil works at Dimapur Airport, the Diphupar Naga Youth Organisation (DNYO) Friday said it was not against any mainlanders working in Nagaland legally, but maintained that educated unemployed locals must be encouraged and promoted.

In a press release, DNYO president Kikheto Sumi and general secretary Mangpang Phom said that the contract works especially the annual maintenance contract (AMC), which required 24-hour attention, could be well maintained and carried out only by inhabitant and native contractors.
The organisation expressed disappointment and shock that a reputed firm like contractor Nabalok Das could “stoop too low” in accusing his counterpart contractors and the Nagas in general.
Asserting that such allegation was “totally unacceptable and unprofessional”, the DNYO said that his negligence of not carrying out the work order in time was “totally failure and breach of contract on its part.”
Meanwhile, DNYO has urged the responsible authority to review the matter at the earliest so development activities of the only airport in Nagaland was not hindered or delayed.
