Organisations, individuals convey condolence messages

Deputy chief minister, Y Patton has expressed sadness at the demise of Rev. Dr Ellis Murry, former secretary Nagaland Mission Movement (NMM), who passed away on June 12 at his residence in Dimapur.

In a condolence message, Patton said late Murry dedicated his life in the service of the Lord from a young age till the time of his death. He said late Murry was the first general secretary of NMM under NBCC, served as missionary at large and also founded Supreme Task International. Patton also said that late Murry travelled widely and authored many books. 

Patton said his wife joins him in mourning with the bereaved family and prayed for the departed to rest in eternal peace.

MP Tokheho: In a condolence message, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) Tokheho Yepthomi said he was deeply pained by the passing of Er Khetovi Assumi, former chief engineer PHED Nagaland.

Tokheho said late Assumi took over as the Chief Engineer of PHED in 1999 when the department was in a bad state of affairs. He described late Assumi as an upright and dedicated officer who toiled to make water accessible to various nook and corners of the state.

The MP said that under Assumi’s initiative that the then Planning Commission of India sanctioned Rs. 43 crores for PHED Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) which reduced the workforce of 3782 w/c employees in the department, which is why the PHED department was able to function the way it does today.

Tokheho said his passing away has left a very large void in Naga society, but Assumi’s work for the people would always live on for times to come.

Further, Tokheho has conveyed deepest condolences and sympathy to the bereaved wife and children and prayed that God would provide them solace and strength to bear his loss, and the departed soul to rest in peace.

WSBAK: Western Sümi Baptist Akükühou Küqhakulu (WSBAK) said it was bereaved at the sad demise of late Er. Khetovi K Assümi retired chief engineer PHED. 

In a condolence message, WSBAK said late Er. Khetovi was a man of faith who has helped the people at various level. WSBAK said it was a great loss for the Sümi community and the society as a whole to lose a person of such high morale and stature who had committed his life for the betterment and development of the society.

Further, WSBAK said it grieves with the bereaved family and prayed for God’s comfort and peace to be upon the family.

CPO: Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) has expressed sadness at the demise of late Ningusie Zetsuvi on June 12at Medziphema ‘A’.

In a condolence message, CPO said late Zetsuvi, a retired government teacher, rendered selfless services not only to the strengthening and growth of Chakhroma Baptist Churches Council (CBCC) but also to the Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO). 

In his death, CPO said not only his family members and loved ones, but the organisation has lost a fatherly figure and a pillar of strength and that the loss would be palpably felt and missed. 

Further, CPO has prayed to God to provide the strength to his loved ones to overcome this loss and for the departed soul to rest in peace.

CAGSA: Chokri Area Games & Sports Association (CAGSA) has mourned the demise of Vetsurayi Tetseo, vice-president, Chakhesang Youth Front and Tavezo Theluo, assistant professor, Pfutsero Government College.

In a condolence message, CAGSA described late Vetsurayi and late Tavezo as visionary leaders with great personalities. Further, CAGSA has conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the departed souls to rest in peace.

NSCN (I-M): NSCN (I-M) convenor steering committee, Ashiho Asouma has mourned the sudden demise of Kaping Maram, member of the steering executive committee, NSCN, who breathed his last on June 13 at Senapati after a prolonged illness. 

In a condolence message, NSCN said late Maram was a dedicated man who loved Naga nation and displayed his patriotic spirit by rendering his service for the Naga nation from the year 1974till his last breath. 

NSCN has conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and his close friends and prayed that God would take care of them and comfort them at this hour of grief and for the departed soul to rest in peace.
