
State chief minister Neiphiu Rio on Saturday called on union home minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and reportedly discussed matters related to development of Nagaland.
In a tweet, Rio thanked Shah for his “constant support” for Nagaland and its citizens. The chief minister expressed gratitude to union home minister “especially for his personal concern in our collective fight against the #COVID19 pandemic.”
Meanwhile, Rio Friday met his Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sarma in New Delhi and reportedly discussed “strategic matters” including border management and development.
Sarma tweeted, “today in New Delhi met Hon CM Nagaland Sri @Neiphiu_Rio. We discussed issues of mutual interest and how the two governments can work together and collaborate on strategic matters including border management & development”.
As reported, Union Home Minister, Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Meghalaya on July 14 and July 15 to chair a meeting with the chief ministers of the North Eastern states on various issues including the boundary disputes between states in the region.
