Monthly DPDB meetings conducted in three districts

The monthly district planning and development board (DPDB) meeting was conducted in Zunheboto, Peren and Kiphire on July 6. The meeting discussed various issues pertaining to the respective districts.

Pukhayi lauds frontline workers; encourages farming: Advisor food & civil supplies, LM&CP, Taxes, Pukhayi Sumi lauded the frontline workers of Zunheboto district for their relentless service in the fight against the pandemic.
According to DIPR report, Pukhayi who is also the chairman of Zunheboto DPDB was addressing the monthly DPDB meeting at town hall Zunheboto.
Lauding the frontline workers for their selfless service, Pukhayi said they have been working day and night for the safety of the people.
He also lauded the DC and chairman district task force (DTF) Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo and members of the task force for their contributions in the ongoing fight.
Highlighting the importance of agriculture to become self-reliant, Pukhayi asked the agri and allied department to intensify their programmes so that they could reach out to more farmers.
Though the government was trying its best to provide and meet the needs of the citizens, Pukhayi said there was also a need to focus on self-reliance and sustainability for which he asked agri and allied departments to encourage farmers to put more effort.
Earlier, the advisor began the meeting by observing a moment of silence in remembrance of COVID-19 victims, legislators, government officials and public leaders.
The meeting which was held after a gap of few months also discussed establishing Government Primary School at Lotisa Old Village, grant-in-aid for St Clare School, Akuluto, upgrading of public health sub centre Satami to PHC and finalisation of LADP 2021-2022.
Yangseo calls for a team effort: Kiphire DPDB meeting was held at DPDB conference hall under the chairmanship of Kiphire DPDB chairman T. Yangseo Sangtam, MLA.
He stated that Kiphire being an aspirational district, the government had envisioned many developmental policies, schemes and projects to be implemented in the district.
He urged everyone posted in the district to work together as a team for successful implementation of all government programmes.
He also urged upon the landowners not to hamper developmental activities in the district. He further lauded the DTF, medical team, tribal leaders civil societies and NGOs for their service in their fight against the pandemic and especially the front line workers risking their life to save people.
The members discussed various agenda which were decided to be recommended for approval to the higher authority such as: registration of Eastern Sumi Kukami Hoho; proposal for approval of LADP 2021-22 under 59 A/C & 60 A/C; after deliberation the meeting decided to forward the establishment of community based eco tourism at Mimi to the NEC.
The Chairman also informed that agri & allied departments of agriculture, horticulture, sericulture, land resources and district land record & survey would deliver PowerPoint presentation in the next DPDB meeting.
Earlier, the members welcomed new board members ADC, Rahul Mali and EE, PWD (R&B) Nimo Kath.
Sakhi OSC activities highlighted in Peren: Peren DPDB meeting was held at DC’s conference hall, Peren under the chairmanship of DC Peren & DPDB vice chairman, Sentiwapang Aier.
According to DIPR report, the house deliberated on: schemes for 6 Tening A/C under LADP 2021-22; forwarding of application in respect of grant in aid for St. Francis De Sales School Peren; proposal for opening of new school i.e., St. Joseph School at Songlhuh under Ahthibung sub-division and shifting of Peren government college.
During the meeting, counselor Grace gave a PowerPoint presentation about the schemes, aims and objectives and activities conducted in the district by Sakhi One Stop Centre Peren.
The board members appreciated the services rendered by the organisation and further assured to provide all possible helps in carrying out their noble endeavor.
The DC informed the members on the directives received from the office of the chief secretary regarding 50% attendance of officers and staff.
He expressed concern about the absence of many officers and staff and requested them to perform their duty diligently and sincerely. New members were also introduced to the house during the meeting.
