A two-day seminar on “family planning for men, health care and hygiene for mothers” was organised by district health society (DHS) Tuensang from October 24-25 at Yangli village under Longkhim block.
In a press release, chief medical officer (CMO) Tuensang office informed that during the seminar health talk on family planning was given by MO (CHC Longkhim), Dr. Saotakum Chang where he spoke on the importance of vasectomy and methods of male sterilisation and the effectiveness of vasectomies.
He added that vasectomy is a “small operation to prevent pregnancy”.
Family Welfare Assistant (FWA) Yungmei encouraged women to go for regular check-up, screen for cervical cancer, breast cancer and to maintain a menstrual calendar. She also talked about the adolescent age group, reproductive age, etc.
